1Password Integrates With Claude AI for Secure Automated Logins
1Password launches a new browser integration for Anthropic's Claude chatbot that allows the AI to access stored login credentials on behalf of users. The feature, called 1Password for Claude, lets users authorize the AI to complete multi-step tasks like booking travel and managing online accounts without manually inputting their usernames and passwords each time.
The integration relies on a new "zero-exposure security framework" developed by 1Password. This system injects required credentials through a secure channel that Claude cannot view, meaning the AI never actually sees passwords or MFA one-time codes. Users approve or deny each access request with a single biometric prompt, reducing workflow interruptions while maintaining control over their accounts.
As an additional precaution, 1Password scans the page after every autofill to ensure no form submission data remains exposed before returning control to Claude. The company positions the feature as a way to safely bridge the gap between AI automation and personal security, giving users confidence that their sensitive information stays protected even as AI agents take on more complex online tasks.
