The a16z Speedrun accelerator reflects this shift, as half of its current cohort consists of AI-focused gaming companies. These startups explore innovative applications, from crafting dynamic narratives to generating infinite gameplay levels, as demonstrated by Echo Chess from Echo Chunk, which uses AI to create endless puzzles.
Beyond development tools, Lu champions Discord as the next major distribution platform for gaming startups. He believes that building games directly on top of Discord's social infrastructure gives new developers a unique advantage to reach and engage audiences in ways traditional app stores do not support.
