Abu Dhabi's MGX Joins Record $30 Billion Anthropic Funding Round
MGX participates in Anthropic's massive $30 billion Series G round, which aims to boost enterprise AI and coding infrastructure. The US AI firm stands out for its safety-focused approach and popular Claude chatbot.
Abu Dhabi-based investment firm MGX joins a prominent group of financial backers in Anthropic's massive $30 billion Series G funding round. The investment is led by GIC and Coco, with additional participation from DE Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, and ICONIQ. Anthropic plans to use these funds to advance its frontier research, expand product development, and grow the infrastructure that establishes it as a market leader in enterprise AI and coding.
This investment highlights MGX's aggressive strategy to build its portfolio in the American technology sector. The Abu Dhabi AI platform previously makes headlines in October 2025 by joining a consortium to acquire Aligned Data Centres in a deal valued at $40 billion. That landmark transaction ranks as one of the largest private equity digital infrastructure deals on record and aims to significantly boost global AI capacity when it closes in early 2026.
Unlike some of its better-known rivals, Anthropic carves out a unique position in the industry through its popular Claude chatbot and its strict safety-first philosophy. Operating as a public benefit corporation, the company actively supports stringent chip export policies and government regulations, a stance that draws sharp criticism from industry giants like Nvidia. Despite these industry clashes, Anthropic continues to attract a loyal customer base by offering coding models that drastically reduce software development time for start-ups and novice developers.
