Adobe Launches Commercial Firefly AI Across Creative Cloud Suite

Adobe officially releases its Firefly generative AI models for commercial use, integrating the technology directly into Photoshop, Illustrator, and Express. The launch also introduces Adobe GenStudio for enterprise content supply chains and a dedicated Firefly web application.

Adobe officially releases Firefly, its family of creative generative AI models, for commercial use across its popular software suite. The technology is now natively integrated into Creative Cloud applications like Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as the Adobe Express platform. A new standalone Firefly web application also launches, providing a dedicated space for users to explore AI-assisted creative expression.

The Firefly models support text prompts in over 100 languages and are specifically designed to be safe for commercial use. Subscribers receive access to the tool through a new Generative Credits system, which allocates a set number of AI generation actions per billing cycle. This approach allows both individual creators and large enterprise customers to confidently incorporate AI-generated assets into their professional workflows.

Alongside the core creative tools, Adobe introduces Adobe GenStudio, a new solution aimed at revolutionizing the enterprise content supply chain. GenStudio combines content ideation, creation, production, and activation into a single platform for business customers. Because Adobe trains its initial AI models on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content, and public domain material, enterprise clients benefit from a model designed to avoid the intellectual property complications associated with other generative AI systems.
