Adobe Launches Firefly Mobile App With Third-Party AI Models
Adobe releases dedicated Firefly apps for iOS and Android that combine its own AI image and video models with tools from OpenAI, Google, and other competitors. The expansion is part of a broader update that boosts the company's subscriber growth.
Adobe releases new dedicated Firefly apps for iOS and Android, giving mobile users access to a comprehensive suite of AI generation tools. These smartphone applications allow people to generate images and videos from text prompts, transform still images into video content, and edit specific areas using generative fill and expand features directly on their devices.
The mobile apps integrate Adobe's own Firefly models with popular third-party AI tools, including OpenAI's image generator, Google's Imagen 3 and Veo 2, and Flux 1.1 Pro. Adobe also expands its third-party support across the platform by adding Flux.1 Kontext, Ideogram 3.0, and Runway's Gen-4 Image to give creators a wide variety of artistic styles and capabilities.
Creative Cloud subscribers seamlessly sync their mobile projects to the cloud for continued editing on web or desktop applications. Additionally, Adobe updates its collaborative Firefly Boards tool to support video generation through both its proprietary models and competitor technologies, driving a 30% quarter-over-quarter increase in new subscribers as users surpass 24 billion generated media assets.
