Adobe showcases significant upgrades to its photo editing software at MAX 2022, bringing powerful new tools to Photoshop and Lightroom. Alongside features that users can access immediately, the company reveals its ongoing plans to integrate advanced Generative Artificial Intelligence technologies deeper into its creative ecosystem.

The desktop version of Photoshop receives major improvements to its Object Selection tool, enabling the software to recognize complex regions like the sky, buildings, water, and various types of ground. Building upon this enhanced selection technology, users can now remove unwanted elements with a simple one-click delete and fill command that utilizes Content-Aware Fill to seamlessly patch the image.

Adobe also introduces a new Photo Restoration Neural Filter that uses machine learning to automatically repair damage and imperfections in old photographs. Additionally, a new Share for Review beta feature allows users to send Photoshop files to collaborators for real-time feedback and input directly within the application.
