AI Cloud Provider CoreWeave Hits $19 Billion Valuation After New Funding
Nvidia-backed cloud startup CoreWeave raises $1.1 billion, reaching a $19 billion valuation as demand for AI computing resources soars.
CoreWeave, a cloud infrastructure startup backed by Nvidia, raises $1.1 billion in a new funding round that pushes its valuation to $19 billion. This massive jump from a $7 billion valuation just months ago highlights the explosive demand for the graphics processing units needed to train and run artificial intelligence models.
The company specializes in renting out GPUs to clients that include Microsoft and the AI startup Mistral. Major tech firms consistently report that they cannot meet the surging demand for AI cloud services due to tight supplies of critical components, creating a highly lucrative market for specialized providers like CoreWeave.
Despite competing against massive cloud giants like Amazon and Google, CoreWeave plans a rapid expansion of its physical footprint. The New Jersey-based company currently operates 14 data centers exclusively in the United States, but it intends to expand to 28 facilities globally by the end of the year using its new capital.
