In a proof-of-concept test published in the journal Science, ASTERIS analyzes Webb's Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey and reveals features a full magnitude fainter than previously visible. This enhanced clarity effectively doubles the number of distant galaxies detected, including dozens of early galaxies that exist from the universe's first 500 million years.
