Aidar Health develops an FDA-cleared handheld device called MouthLab that captures ten vital health parameters in under a minute. This technology provides physicians with consistent, daily data to better manage patients with chronic conditions.
Sathya Elumalai co-founds Aidar Health to solve the daily uncertainty of managing chronic conditions after his mother faces multiple health diagnoses. The company introduces MouthLab, an iPhone-sized device that functions like a check engine light for the human body. By capturing a holistic view of a patient's baseline health, the device alerts users and their doctors to any early deviations or abnormalities.
To use MouthLab, a patient breathes normally into the mouthpiece while placing their hands on the device as instructed. The technology pulls data from various sensors that analyze saliva, breathing, hand pulse, and lips. In under a minute, the device records ten key parameters including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate variability, ECG, and oxygen saturation.
This continuous stream of reliable data addresses a major gap in remote care where doctors previously rely mostly on patient self-reporting. MouthLab earns FDA 510(k) Class II clearance, allowing the company to market the device commercially while it continues to prove its safety. Backed by three completed clinical trials, Aidar Health aims to give physicians the consistent daily vitals they need for effective long-term care.
