Amazon Unveils Luna Game Streaming and Spherical Echo Speakers
Amazon expands its hardware and software ecosystem with the new Luna cloud gaming service and a completely redesigned spherical lineup of Echo smart speakers.
Amazon introduces Luna, a new cloud gaming service that competes directly with Google Stadia and Nvidia GeForce Now. The platform operates in early access and features a robust library that includes major Ubisoft titles like Assassin's Creed: Valhalla alongside over 100 other games.
The tech giant also reveals a completely revamped lineup of Echo speakers that feature a striking, soccer ball-like spherical design. In addition to the new audio hardware, the company showcases a flying Ring security camera drone and cute Echo Dot models adorned with playful animal prints.
Amazon shifts its overall strategy by making Alexa smarter through the use of acoustic, linguistic, and visual cues to follow conversations naturally. Rather than turning every household appliance into a smart device, the company focuses on improving the virtual assistant within the smart speakers, streaming devices, and displays that consumers already own.
