Amazon Web Services Drops Parler Over Failure to Moderate Violence

Amazon follows Apple and Google by kicking the conservative social media platform Parler off its Web Services. Parler, founded in 2018 as an alternative to Twitter, faces this ban because numerous posts on the app advocate for violence and promote participation in the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Amazon plans to suspend Parler's account because the platform fails to effectively identify and remove content that incites violence against others. An email obtained by Buzzfeed states that Parler violates Amazon's terms of service and poses a very real risk to public safety.
This removal from Amazon Web Services means that users cannot access the Parler platform through a web browser. The tech giant enforces the suspension effective Sunday, January 10th, leaving the controversial app without its primary internet hosting infrastructure.
