Anthology Fund Backs First 18 AI Startups With $100M Initiative
Menlo Ventures and Anthropic select the first 18 startups for their $100 million Anthology Fund, chosen from thousands of applicants. The hybrid program offers funding and AI credits to companies building applications on top of foundational models.
Menlo Ventures and Anthropic officially back the first 18 startups for their $100 million Anthology Fund just five months after announcing the initiative. These initial companies emerge from a pool of thousands of applicants and focus on diverse fields such as autonomous coding, radiology image analysis, fintech compliance, and cybersecurity. An additional eight stealth startups also join the program, bringing the current total to 26 participants.
The Anthology Fund operates as a hybrid between a traditional corporate startup program and an incubator. Participating companies receive checks of $100,000 or more across pre-seed to Series B stages, along with $25,000 in credits for Anthropic's AI models. This structure provides both the financial backing of a venture fund and the technical resources needed to build on top of foundational AI infrastructure.
This strategic partnership allows Menlo Ventures and Anthropic to position themselves at the forefront of the next wave of artificial intelligence innovation. As the industry shifts focus from building foundational models to creating practical applications that run on them, the fund actively seeks out promising new companies. The program remains open and actively looks for more startups to join the growing portfolio.
