Anthropic Launches $200 Monthly AI Subscription for Power Users
Anthropic introduces a premium Max subscription plan for its Claude AI chatbot, offering heavy users significantly higher usage limits for up to $200 per month. The new tiers directly compete with similar high-end offerings from rivals like OpenAI.
Anthropic introduces a premium Max subscription plan for its Claude artificial intelligence chatbot, catering to users who require expanded access for their most demanding tasks. The new offering comes in two tiers: an Expanded Usage plan at $100 per month for frequent users, and a Maximum Flexibility plan at $200 per month for daily power users who integrate AI into almost all of their work.
The higher price point delivers up to 20 times higher usage limits compared to standard plans, allowing professionals to maintain momentum on complex projects without interruption. Subscribers also receive priority access to Anthropic’s newest features and models, enabling deep collaboration on tasks like writing, software development, and data analysis until the results meet their exact standards.
This launch directly competes with a similar $200-per-month "research grade" subscription that rival OpenAI debuted for ChatGPT in December. The move aligns with Anthropic's recent strategy of targeting enterprise and power users, following last week's release of Claude for Education and the company's stated focus on building generalist foundation models rather than consumer hardware or entertainment products.
