Anthropic Reaches $183B Valuation After Massive $13B Funding Round

Anthropic secures a $13 billion Series F round, pushing its valuation to $183 billion as demand for its AI products surges. The company plans to use the capital for enterprise growth, safety research, and global expansion.

Anthropic raises a massive $13 billion Series F funding round that pushes its post-money valuation to $183 billion. The AI company plans to use these new funds to accelerate enterprise adoption, expand its safety research efforts, and support international growth. Iconiq, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Lightspeed Venture Partners co-lead the round, with additional participation from major financial institutions like BlackRock, Blackstone, and the Qatar Investment Authority.

This enormous influx of capital reflects exponential demand for Anthropic's products, as the company reports annual recurring revenue jumps from $1 billion to $5 billion over the course of 2025. Anthropic currently serves over 300,000 business customers, and its count of large accounts generating over $100,000 in run-rate revenue grows nearly seven times in the past year. The company's Claude Code developer tool drives much of this momentum, generating over $500 million in run-rate revenue with usage increasing more than tenfold in just three months.

Staying competitive against fierce rivals like OpenAI and Cursor requires substantial financial resources, a reality that prompts complicated decisions for Anthropic's leadership. CEO Dario Amodei admits he is not thrilled about accepting money from sovereign wealth funds associated with dictatorial governments, but he acknowledges the business necessity of not excluding "bad people" from investing. This latest round significantly surpasses earlier reports that predicted a $3 billion to $5 billion raise at a $170 billion valuation.
