Anthropic Reaches $380B Valuation After Massive $30B Series G Round
Anthropic secures $30 billion in a Series G round led by GIC and Coatue, more than doubling its valuation to $380 billion. The funding comes as the AI company intensifies its competition with OpenAI for enterprise dominance.
Anthropic concludes a massive $30 billion Series G fundraising round, pushing its total valuation to $380 billion. This staggering figure represents a significant jump from the company's previous valuation of $183 billion during its Series F. The round is led by Singaporean wealth fund GIC and investment management firm Coatue.
A consortium of major financial players co-leads the investment, including D. E. Shaw Ventures, Founders Fund, and Abu Dhabi's MGX. Other notable participants in the round feature Accel, General Catalyst, Jane Street, and the Qatar Investment Authority. This enormous influx of capital highlights the immense financial backing behind top-tier artificial intelligence developers.
This fundraising effort occurs as Anthropic actively competes for market share and cultural relevance against its primary rival, OpenAI. OpenAI currently seeks an additional $100 billion in funding that could potentially value that company at $830 billion. Anthropic's chief financial officer, Krishna Rao, states that the new capital reflects surging enterprise demand for Claude and will fund the continued development of critical business products.
