Anthropic Unveils Opus 4.5 With Chrome and Excel Integrations

Anthropic launches Opus 4.5, its most powerful AI model yet, featuring state-of-the-art coding scores and new memory capabilities. The release also brings Claude for Chrome and Claude for Excel tools out of pilot testing.

Anthropic releases Opus 4.5, the final and most capable model in its 4.5 series, delivering state-of-the-art performance across coding, tool use, and general problem-solving benchmarks. Notably, Opus 4.5 is the first model to score over 80% on the SWE-Bench verified coding benchmark, solidifying its position as a top-tier AI system.

Alongside the core model, Anthropic makes Claude for Chrome and Claude for Excel broadly available to paid users. The Chrome extension is accessible to Max subscribers, while the Excel integration reaches Max, Team, and Enterprise tiers, allowing the AI to operate directly within everyday productivity tools.

Opus 4.5 also introduces significant memory improvements that enable a new "endless chat" feature for paid users. Instead of stopping a conversation when it hits the context limit, the model seamlessly compresses its memory in the background, which is especially useful for complex agentic workflows where Claude directs sub-agents through large code bases and documents.
