Anthropic releases Opus 4.6, the latest version of its most advanced AI model, to significantly broaden its capabilities for a wider audience. The standout feature of this update is the introduction of "agent teams," a system that divides large tasks among multiple agents. Instead of processing a job sequentially, these agents split the work, take ownership of their specific segments, and coordinate directly with one another to operate much faster.
The new model also boasts an expanded context window of one million tokens, matching the capacity of Anthropic's Sonnet versions. This larger memory allows the AI to handle massive code bases and process extensive documents within a single session. Additionally, Anthropic integrates Claude directly into Microsoft PowerPoint as a side panel, enabling users to build and edit presentations entirely within the application rather than transferring generated files.
Anthropic emphasizes that Opus evolves from a specialized tool for software developers into a versatile assistant for all types of knowledge workers.
