Anthropic's Annualized Revenue Hits $65 Billion as IPO Looms

Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate surpasses $65 billion as of the end of July, according to a Bloomberg report, marking a dramatic acceleration from $47 billion in May and just $9 billion at the end of last year. The AI model maker's growth is not only historic in pace but continues to speed up, captivating investors across the tech industry.

Investors expect Anthropic to maintain roughly the same growth rate through the rest of 2026, finishing the year between $100 billion and $120 billion, the Financial Times reports. Rival OpenAI, by comparison, doubles its revenue to $40 billion, up from $20 billion at the end of 2025. While the two companies may calculate revenue metrics differently, Anthropic's growth rate draws far more investor enthusiasm than OpenAI's.

Both companies have filed confidential IPO paperwork, but Anthropic is expected to reach public markets first, possibly as soon as this fall. The company is reportedly seeking a public valuation of $2 trillion or more, which would make it the largest market debut on record. Anthropic was last valued at $965 billion in late May, when it raised a $65 billion funding round.
