Apple Confirms macOS Catalina Launch for October

Apple is preparing to release macOS Catalina in October after a summer of beta testing. The update is available as a free download in the Mac App Store and completely rethinks how users interact with media on their computers.
Instead of relying on iTunes for everything, Catalina introduces separate apps for Music, Podcasts, and TV. The Photos app receives a significant update that borrows features from iOS 13, allowing users to view their pictures by days, months, or years while using artificial intelligence to curate the best shots.
The new operating system also brings Sidecar, a feature that lets users turn their iPad into a second Mac display via the AirPlay menu. Additionally, Project Catalyst allows developers to easily port their iPad apps to the Mac, with companies like Twitter and Atlassian already planning to take advantage of this new capability.
