The presentation takes place virtually from the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, with no media members attending in person. This marks a return to the traditional September iPhone launch schedule after the company delayed its 2020 iPhone announcement until October.
Rumors point to the debut of the iPhone 13 lineup, which includes a 5.4-inch mini, a 6.1-inch standard model, and two Pro variants measuring 6.1 and 6.7 inches. While the overall design remains similar to the iPhone 12, the new models feature a smaller notch, improved cameras with sensor-shift stabilization across the board, and a faster A15 chip. The Pro models are also expected to showcase 120Hz ProMotion displays, larger batteries, and potentially an always-on screen.
In addition to the smartphones, Apple is preparing to unveil the Apple Watch Series 7 with its first major design overhaul in years. The new smartwatch adopts flat edges to match the iPhone and uses a new lamination technique to increase the visible display area. While the AirPods 3 could also make an appearance, Apple is likely saving updated MacBook Pro and iPad models for a separate fall event later in the season.
