Apple Intelligence Brings AI Writing, Images, and Smarter Siri to iPhones

Apple Intelligence integrates generative AI features like text summarization, custom image generation, and a deeply enhanced Siri directly into everyday Apple apps. The system represents Apple's major push to compete with leading AI companies.

Apple Intelligence brings generative AI capabilities directly into everyday iPhone applications like Messages, Mail, and Notes. Branded as "AI for the rest of us," the platform leverages large language models to power a feature called Writing Tools, which summarizes long texts, proofreads content, and drafts messages based on specific tone prompts.

The system also includes visual creation features such as Genmojis for custom emojis and a standalone Image Playground app for generating graphics. In addition to these creative tools, Apple completely revamps Siri by giving the assistant a glowing screen-edge interface and the ability to perform complex tasks across multiple applications seamlessly.

Thanks to onscreen awareness, the updated Siri understands the context of whatever content a user is currently viewing to provide highly relevant answers. Although many anticipate an even more advanced version of Siri at the upcoming WWDC 2025, Apple confirms that users have to wait a bit longer for those major upgrades.
