Apple Sets iOS 13 Release Date for September 19

Apple officially confirms that iOS 13 and watchOS 6 will launch on September 19, bringing Dark Mode and swipe typing to iPhones. iPadOS 13 follows later on September 30.

Apple officially announces that iOS 13 and watchOS 6 will launch on Thursday, September 19. This release comes after a summer of beta testing and follows the company's recent iPhone event. iPhone users will finally get their hands on the highly anticipated software update next week.

The iOS 13 update brings a long list of new features to the iPhone, headlined by the popular Dark Mode. Users also benefit from QuickPath swipe typing, a redesigned volume HUD, an overhauled Find My app that locates offline devices, and refreshed designs for core applications like Reminders, Notes, and Maps.

While iPhones receive iOS 13 next week, iPad users wait until September 30 for the dedicated iPadOS 13 release. This separate tablet update includes all the new iOS features plus exclusive capabilities like improved multitasking, mouse support, and Sidecar functionality to use the iPad as a secondary Mac display.
