The update delivers significant improvements to first-party apps like Phone, Messages, and FaceTime, introducing capabilities such as Live Voicemail, Contact Posters, and Name Drop for easy contact sharing.
The Messages app receives a major overhaul with a redesigned interface that features a convenient drawer for accessing photos, stickers, and location sharing. Users gain the ability to create custom Live Stickers by lifting subjects from their photos, while a new Check In feature provides peace of mind by automatically notifying friends and family upon arriving at a destination safely.
IOS 17 also introduces StandBy, a full-screen display mode that turns a sideways iPhone into a smart desk clock with widgets and notifications.
