Apple introduces the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, marking the company's official entry into the 5G era with a redesigned flat-edge look and the highly durable Ceramic Shield display.
Apple unveils the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, bringing 5G technology to its flagship smartphone lineup for the first time. The new models feature a completely redesigned flat-edge form factor and are available in five aluminum finishes, including a new blue option. The standard iPhone 12 boasts a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 12 mini offers a compact 5.4-inch size for users seeking a smaller device.
Both phones include edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays that provide a brighter and more immersive viewing experience. Apple equips the front of the devices with a new Ceramic Shield cover, which delivers the biggest jump in drop durability in iPhone history. Under the hood, the Apple-designed A14 Bionic chip powers the devices and serves as the fastest processor currently found in any smartphone.
The iPhone 12 lineup also introduces an advanced dual-camera system that enables new computational photography features and the highest quality video available on a smartphone. Additionally, Apple launches MagSafe technology on these models, allowing for high-powered wireless charging and a new ecosystem of magnetic accessories that easily snap to the back of the phone.
