Apple Unveils 5G iPhone 12 Lineup and Affordable HomePod Mini

Apple officially introduces the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and HomePod Mini at its "Hi, Speed" event, bringing 5G connectivity and a fresh design to its smartphones.

Apple holds its "Hi, Speed" event to officially reveal the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, marking the first time the flagship smartphone line includes 5G support. Alongside the new phones, the company introduces the HomePod Mini, a smaller and more accessible version of its smart speaker that costs just $99.

The iPhone 12 Pro features a stainless steel design in four colors, larger displays up to 6.5 inches, and an upgraded camera system with a new Lidar sensor. This Lidar technology builds detailed depth maps for improved augmented reality experiences and better low-light autofocus, while a new Apple ProRaw format gives users advanced post-capture editing capabilities.

Pricing for the premium models starts at $999 for the iPhone 12 Pro and $1,099 for the Pro Max, with pre-orders opening in October and November. The standard iPhone 12 also shares the same fundamental design refresh and 5G connectivity, establishing a completely revamped foundation for Apple's entire smartphone ecosystem.
