Apple Unveils 5G iPhone 12 Lineup and Affordable HomePod Mini

Apple officially introduces the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and HomePod Mini at its "Hi, Speed" event, bringing 5G connectivity and a fresh design to its smartphones.

Apple hosts its "Hi, Speed" event to officially reveal the highly anticipated iPhone 12 series, marking the first time the flagship smartphones include 5G support. Alongside the new phones, the company unveils the HomePod Mini, a compact smart speaker that offers a much more accessible entry point into the HomePod ecosystem with a $99 price tag.

The iPhone 12 Pro models feature a premium stainless steel design in four new colors, larger displays, and advanced camera systems. The Pro Max variant stands out with a larger sensor for improved low-light photography, while both Pro models incorporate a Lidar sensor to build depth maps for enhanced augmented reality experiences and better autofocus in dark environments.

Apple also introduces a new Apple ProRaw image format that allows users to adjust photo settings after capturing an image, alongside the ability to shoot and edit Dolby Vision video. The standard iPhone 12 starts at a lower price point than the Pro models, and customers can pre-order the base iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models in mid-October before they ship later in the month.
