Apple Unveils Colorful M1 iMac, AirTag Trackers, and Upgraded Apple TV
Apple's Spring Loaded event introduces the long-rumored AirTag item tracker, a vibrant M1-powered iMac, and a revamped Apple TV 4K with a redesigned remote.
Apple hosts its highly polished "Spring Loaded" event to reveal a suite of new hardware, including the long-anticipated AirTag. This small circular tracker utilizes the U1 chip and connects directly to the Find My app, allowing users to easily locate everyday items like keys and luggage. The AirTag features IP67 water and dust resistance, a built-in speaker, and a customizable plastic top with a polished stainless steel back.
The tech giant also introduces the redesigned M1 iMac, which comes in seven vibrant colors and offers significantly faster CPU and GPU performance compared to previous models. Alongside the desktop computer, Apple unveils the sixth-generation Apple TV 4K, powered by an A12 Bionic chip that delivers console-level gaming performance. A standout feature of the new streaming box is an innovative color balance tool that uses an iPhone to calibrate the television's display.
Accompanying the new Apple TV is a completely revamped Siri Remote that swaps the touchpad for a clickable five-way navigation pad. The remote features a new aluminum design and repositions the Siri button to the side for a more ergonomic, iPhone-like experience. Together, these announcements mark a major expansion of Apple's M1 ecosystem and tracking capabilities.
