Apple Unveils Entire iPhone 12 Lineup and HomePod Mini
Apple introduces four new iPhone 12 models featuring 5G, flat-edge designs, and MagSafe charging. The tech giant also reveals a compact HomePod mini and several new accessories.
Apple hosts its "Hi, Speed" event to reveal four new iPhone 12 models, including the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The entire new lineup features a flat-edge design, 5G connectivity, and the new A14 chip. Apple also brings back the MagSafe brand for a new line of magnetic wireless chargers and accessories that attach directly to the back of the iPhones.
The standard iPhone 12 and the smaller 12 mini offer vibrant new colors and start at $699, while the Pro models boast premium materials, a LiDAR scanner, and advanced camera systems. Notably, Apple ships the new devices in thinner boxes that no longer include EarPods or a power adapter. Additionally, the faster mmWave 5G support remains limited to units sold within the United States.
Beyond the smartphones, Apple introduces the HomePod mini, a spherical smart speaker powered by the S5 chip that costs just $99. The company also announces the Beats Flex earphones for $49.99 and a new 20W USB-C power adapter sold separately for $19. Older models like the iPhone 11 and XR stay in the lineup as lower-cost options, though they too no longer ship with charging bricks or wired earbuds.
