These next-generation chips scale up the revolutionary design of the original M1 to deliver unprecedented performance and power efficiency for the all-new MacBook Pro. The new processors represent a massive leap forward for mobile computing hardware.
The CPU in both new chips delivers up to 70 percent faster performance than the original M1, drastically speeding up demanding tasks like compiling code in Xcode. On the graphics side, the M1 Pro offers up to double the GPU speed of the M1, while the M1 Max reaches an astonishing four times the GPU performance. This immense power allows professional users to breeze through complex graphics workflows directly on a notebook.
Memory capacity and bandwidth see incredible upgrades, with the M1 Pro supporting up to 32GB of unified memory and the M1 Max supporting up to 64GB. The M1 Max also provides up to 400GB/s of memory bandwidth, nearly six times that of the original M1, enabling graphics-intensive workflows previously impossible on a laptop.
