Apple Upgrades 13-Inch MacBook Pro With Magic Keyboard and Faster Chips
Apple refreshes its 13-inch MacBook Pro by adding the popular Magic Keyboard, doubling standard storage, and boosting processor speeds.
Apple updates the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the highly praised Magic Keyboard, bringing a redesigned scissor mechanism and a physical Escape key to the portable device. The updated keyboard provides 1mm of key travel for a comfortable typing experience and features an inverted-T arrangement for the arrow keys. This change completes the transition away from the controversial butterfly keyboard across Apple's entire notebook lineup.
The tech giant doubles the storage capacity across all standard configurations of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, offering customers significantly more space for their files and applications. Additionally, the updated models include 10th-generation Intel processors that deliver up to 80 percent faster graphics performance. Select configurations also receive 16GB of faster 3733MHz memory as a standard feature.
Despite these internal upgrades, the laptop maintains its familiar design with a brilliant 13-inch Retina display, Touch Bar, Touch ID, and all-day battery life inside a sleek three-pound aluminum unibody. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is available to order immediately in space gray or silver. Pricing starts at $1,299 for general consumers and $1,199 for education customers.
