Apple Vision Pro Demand Exceeds Expectations With Low Return Rate

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that demand for the Apple Vision Pro is higher than the company originally expects, with US shipments projected to reach 200,000 to 250,000 units this year. This figure surpasses Apple's initial estimate of 150,000 to 200,000 units, though the device remains a niche product. To accommodate this relatively high demand and prepare for upcoming international rollouts, Apple asks its suppliers to increase production.
Shipping times for the headset improve significantly, dropping from over a month to just three to five days as production catches up with early adopter orders. Furthermore, Kuo notes that the return rate for the Vision Pro drops to less than one percent. He attributes this low figure to the fact that post-launch buyers have a clear understanding of the device's capabilities before making their purchase.
Despite the positive sales data, Kuo finds no evidence in the supply chain that a cheaper Vision Pro model is currently in development. Many expect Apple to release a more affordable version of the headset that removes features like EyeSight to cut costs, but such a project does not appear to be officially underway yet.
