Arcona Music debuts its adaptive music service at Disrupt Berlin, utilizing machine learning to create musical tracks that adjust to different contexts in real-time. Users simply input parameters like style, emotion, and musical theme, and the engine generates an infinite stream of customized music that adapts instantly if those parameters change.
The bootstrapped startup currently consists of just two full-time employees, co-founders Ryan Groves and Amélie Anglade, who bring valuable experience from Ditty and SoundCloud respectively. While the service remains in its early stages without outside funding, the team actively explores rhythm gaming as its first practical application due to the genre's need for dynamic, minimally pre-programmed soundtracks.
Looking ahead, the founders envision much broader applications for their adaptive audio technology. Groves explains that the long-term goal involves creating a personal orchestra that leverages augmented reality and GPS data to dynamically respond to a user's physical environment as they listen.
