A major infrastructure highlight is the unveiling of Amazon S3 Express One Zone, a new storage class designed for high-performance, low-latency object storage. This new offering delivers single-digit millisecond latency, data access speeds up to ten times faster, and request costs up to fifty percent lower than the standard Amazon S3 tier. Selipsky points to Pinterest as an early adopter that achieves a forty percent reduction in total costs by utilizing this optimized storage solution.
Beyond storage improvements, Selipsky introduces Amazon Q, a generative-AI-powered assistant tailored for business use. Additional announcements include new zero-ETL integrations for faster data analysis, AI recommendations for simplified data cataloging in Amazon DataZone, and powerful new chips like AWS Graviton4 and Trainium2. AWS also expands its strategic partnerships with major tech players like Salesforce, Nvidia, and Anthropic to further enhance its AI and machine learning capabilities.
