AWS re:Invent 2021 delivers a wide array of new tools for cloud engineers, with AWS Private 5G standing out as a major highlight. This service allows organizations to build their own private 5G cell networks, which is ideal for large campuses or warehouses that need increased bandwidth for numerous devices. AWS handles the hardware and shipping, including SIM cards, and customers pay only for the network capacity and throughput they use without any upfront or per-device costs.
The event also features significant updates to Amazon SageMaker, particularly with the general availability of SageMaker Canvas. This no-code interface enables business analysts and other users with little to no machine learning experience to generate valuable ML predictions visually. Additionally, SageMaker Ground Truth Plus is now available to help organizations scale their ML efforts by providing expert-managed data labeling workflows, which reduces labeling costs by up to 40 percent.
Furthermore, AWS introduces the preview of Amazon SageMaker Serverless Inference to streamline the deployment of machine learning models.
