AWS Unveils Agentic AI Tools to Accelerate Software Development
AWS introduces a suite of new agentic AI capabilities, including Amazon Quick and DevOps Agent, designed to remove bottlenecks between ideation and production. These tools automate coding, testing, and IT tasks to help teams ship software at machine speed.
AWS introduces a new wave of agentic AI capabilities aimed at eliminating the constraints between an idea and production. The centerpiece of this release is Amazon Quick, an AI assistant that connects to existing workplace tools, takes action on behalf of users, and learns from every interaction. Users have the flexibility to choose exactly how much autonomy to hand over to the system, ranging from simple question-answering to fully autonomous tasks that run continuously for days.
Beyond basic assistance, Quick features an activity feed that prioritizes critical information from email, Slack, and calendars while filtering out noise. It also allows users to build and share fully functional web applications using natural language without writing code or submitting IT requests. Additionally, the assistant connects directly to major data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, and Redshift, enabling teams to query complex datasets using conversational language.
To address lingering bottlenecks in the software release process, AWS launches the DevOps Agent, AWS Transform, and mobile support for Kiro. The DevOps Agent reviews code for release readiness and runs autonomous testing to ensure safe and reliable deployments. Meanwhile, AWS Transform continuously scans thousands of repositories to remediate tech debt automatically, and the new Kiro mobile app brings native coding sessions to iOS devices so developers can manage work directly from their phones.
