AWS Unveils Generative AI Assistant and Next-Gen Chips at re:Invent 2023

AWS showcases generative artificial intelligence as the star of re:Invent 2023 in Las Vegas, revealing tools that help businesses move beyond testing into real-world application. The headline announcement is Amazon Q, a new generative AI assistant designed specifically for work that tailors its capabilities to individual businesses while prioritizing security and privacy.
To support the heavy computational demands of these new AI workloads, AWS introduces next-generation custom silicon including Graviton4 and Trainium2 chips. These new processors promise to make running generative AI faster, less expensive, and more energy efficient for cloud customers.
The event also brings significant expansions to the Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker platforms. Amazon Bedrock now offers an expanded choice of foundation models from leading AI companies, alongside new capabilities for model customization, multistep task execution, and application safeguards. Additionally, AWS announces five new capabilities for Amazon SageMaker to further streamline the machine learning development process.
