AWS Unveils Nova AI Model Family and New Bedrock Tools
AWS launches the Amazon Nova family of foundation models, offering text, image, and video generation capabilities on Amazon Bedrock. The cloud giant also introduces new tools designed to address common generative AI challenges like hallucinations.
AWS introduces the Amazon Nova family of foundation models, expanding its generative AI offerings exclusively on Amazon Bedrock. The new lineup includes Amazon Nova Micro, a text-only model built for fast and low-cost responses, and Amazon Nova Lite, a multimodal model capable of analyzing images, video, and text inputs.
Additionally, AWS releases Amazon Nova Pro for complex document analysis and coding tasks, alongside Amazon Nova Canvas and Nova Reel for image and video generation. A more advanced model called Amazon Nova Premier is currently in training and is scheduled for release in 2025.
Alongside the new models, AWS debuts new tools on Bedrock aimed at tackling common generative AI issues such as hallucinations. These Nova models join a diverse selection of third-party and first-party foundation models on Bedrock, reflecting AWS CEO Andy Jassy's vision that customers rely on different models for different tasks.
