Baidu Launches PaddleHelix AI Framework for Biomedical Research

Baidu unveils PaddleHelix, a new machine learning bio-computing framework designed to tackle complex challenges in medicine, vaccine design, and precision medicine. The framework equips researchers with a comprehensive suite of algorithms and models tailored for the biotechnology sector.

The toolkit includes capabilities for RNA secondary structure prediction, large-scale molecular pre-training, and drug-target affinity prediction. Additionally, it features tools for ADMET and drugability prediction to streamline the extensive drug development process.

PaddleHelix operates as a specialized extension of PaddlePaddle, Baidu's deep learning platform that currently supports over 2.65 million developers and powers more than 340,000 models. This new biomedical addition leverages the robust, highly parallelized foundation of PaddlePaddle to serve the growing intersection of artificial intelligence and biology.
