Banjo and Kazooie Join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Roster

The iconic bear and bird duo from Rare make their long-awaited debut as playable fighters in Nintendo's popular crossover game.

The beloved bear and bird duo Banjo and Kazooie officially join the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the newest downloadable fighters. Nintendo reveals this exciting addition during its E3 2019 presentation, fulfilling a long-standing request from fans who have campaigned for their inclusion for years.

These characters originate from the classic Nintendo 64 era courtesy of developer Rare, bringing a nostalgic wave to veteran players. Despite Rare now being owned by Microsoft, a unique collaboration between Nintendo and Xbox allows the iconic pair to fight alongside and against classic Nintendo characters like Mario, Link, and Pikachu.

Players experience Banjo and Kazooie's classic moveset, which features their signature magical abilities and backpack-based attacks. The fighter pack also includes a new stage based on Spiral Mountain, a selection of music tracks from the original games, and various spirit board additions to fully celebrate the franchise's rich history.
