Berlin Startup LiveEO Raises 19.5 Million to Transform Satellite Data for Industry
LiveEO secures €19 million to scale its satellite analytics platform, which turns raw geospatial data into actionable insights for energy and transportation companies. The funding highlights growing European investor interest in space technology applications.
Berlin-based startup LiveEO raises €19 million, or $19.5 million, to expand its satellite analytics platform that transforms raw geospatial data into usable information for enterprises. The company focuses specifically on industries like transportation and energy infrastructure, where organizations struggle to process massive amounts of raw satellite imagery. By acting as a bridge between complex space data and everyday business processes, LiveEO positions itself as a key application provider in the rapidly commercializing space sector.
MMC Ventures leads the investment round, which combines €17 million in venture capital with additional backing from the European Commission and Investitionsbank Berlin. Previous investors like DvH Ventures and Helen Ventures join new participants Segenia Capital and Hannover Digital Investments in this significant funding round. This financial support arrives as LiveEO experiences rapid growth, tripling its revenues and doubling its headcount to approximately 100 employees since its previous Series A round in 2021.
LiveEO now operates across five continents and relies heavily on a team composed mostly of engineers and data scientists to process satellite data at scale. Co-founder Daniel Seidel emphasizes that building simple, integrated applications is essential for making space infrastructure valuable to end users. Despite wider financial pressures in the tech industry, this round stands as one of the largest funding events for earth observation technology in Europe, signaling strong and sustained investor confidence in space tech.
