Boeing signs a new agreement with Israel-based Tactical Robotics to jointly develop, produce, and market vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. This partnership centers on Tactical Robotics' "Fancraft" technology, which uses enclosed rotors instead of traditional open ones to direct airflow and improve safety for people near the aircraft.

The initial focus of this collaboration is the Cormorant, an autonomous flying vehicle with the footprint of a Humvee. Because of its internal ducted rotors, the Cormorant takes off and lands vertically in tight spaces, making it a strong candidate for specialized missions like disaster response.

This broader deal explores both piloted and autonomous VTOL options, highlighting a rapidly growing industry.
