German automotive supplier Bosch announces a new LIDAR sensor that gives self-driving cars a three-dimensional view of the road. This new technology aims to significantly lower the cost of autonomous vehicle development for the mass market. The sensor covers both long and close ranges on highways and in cities, and it works seamlessly alongside Bosch's existing camera and radar systems.

AI home robotics startup Trifo unveils Lucy, a smart robot vacuum that doubles as an advanced home surveillance system. Outfitted with an AI-powered brain, Lucy perceives its environment to clean floors and monitor home security simultaneously. Trifo focuses on building full stack hardware and software systems that understand the geometry and semantics of indoor spaces.

To support the launch of Lucy, Trifo closes a $15 million Series B funding round, bringing its total raised capital to $26 million. Founded in 2016 and based in Santa Clara, California, the company plans to use these funds to advance its mission of creating intelligent robots that communicate naturally with humans and continuously learn new skills.
