This latest display builds upon a previous viral video from less than a year ago where Atlas successfully completed a backflip. The robot continues to evolve under the ownership of SoftBank, which acquired Boston Dynamics from Alphabet.
An earlier version of the Atlas robot previously competed in the Darpa Robotics Challenge in 2015. The ongoing improvements highlight the rapid advancements Boston Dynamics makes in bipedal mobility and robotic agility.
