The robot features a square mobile base with wheels, a tall perception mast equipped with cameras and sensors, and a specialized robotic arm with a suction pad. This arm boasts seven degrees of freedom and securely lifts boxes weighing up to 23 kilograms.
Boston Dynamics plans to conduct pilot tests before the commercial deployment of Stretch in 2022. The robot runs on an eight-hour battery or a direct mains power tether, and the company keeps the final pricing under wraps as it evaluates the machine's real-world performance.
