This new electric crossover does not rely on the existing electric architecture found in the Chevrolet Bolt or Volt. Instead, GM develops an entirely new battery electric architecture from a clean slate, with Cadillac serving as the first brand to utilize this advanced platform.
The new flexible platform features advanced drive units and battery cells that GM plans to share across various vehicle lineups globally. The system allows for front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive configurations and offers adjustable battery output based on specific vehicle and customer needs, signaling an aggressive product acceleration for Cadillac.
