ChatGPT Gains Cloud Connectors and Meeting Recording for Enterprise Users

OpenAI equips ChatGPT with cloud storage integrations, meeting transcription, and deep research tools to boost its business productivity capabilities.

OpenAI expands ChatGPT with new productivity features for business users, including direct integrations with popular cloud storage services. The AI assistant now connects to Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, SharePoint, and OneDrive, allowing users to search across their own company documents to answer questions and build projects. This integration respects existing organizational access controls to ensure proper security.

The platform also introduces a meeting recording and transcription feature that generates notes with time-stamped citations and suggested action items. Users can query their meeting transcripts just like their other connected documents, and they can easily convert action items into OpenAI's Canvas document tool. This addition places ChatGPT in direct competition with productivity tools like Zoom, ClickUp, and Notion.

Additionally, OpenAI rolls out deep research connectors in beta for tools like HubSpot and Linear, alongside support for the model context protocol (MCP) to link with other external platforms. These new features are available to paid users, with MCP support specifically targeting Pro, Team, and Enterprise tiers. The update reflects OpenAI's push to embed ChatGPT deeper into enterprise workflows, leveraging its existing base of three million paying business customers.
