Chinese Tech Firms Deploy 3D and AI Innovations for Beijing Winter Olympics

Major Chinese technology companies provide advanced 3D and AI solutions to enhance athlete training, referee scoring, and spectator experiences at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Chinese tech giants play a crucial role in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics by deploying advanced technologies like AI, 5G, and 3D modeling. Baidu utilizes "3D+AI" technology to analyze complex motion data, such as sliding speed, flying height, and rotation angles, directly on high-speed video to assist referee scoring during events.

The company also creates a precise 1-to-1 3D virtual reality model of the Shougang ski jump platform. This immersive model allows spectators to view athletes' performances from a 360-degree perspective, compare different athletes side by side, and better understand complex winter sports movements.

Additionally, AI firm Sensen Times develops a centimeter-level high-precision 3D map of the Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village. By combining GPS and vision fusion data, the company delivers a seamless augmented reality navigation application that provides accurate, delay-free positioning across the massive 300,000-square-meter venue.
