Dataminr Secures $475 Million at $4.1 Billion Valuation Ahead of 2023 IPO

Real-time data analytics startup Dataminr raises a massive $475 million Series F round, pushing its valuation to $4.1 billion. The company plans to use the funds to expand its corporate and international sales as it prepares for a 2023 public listing.

Dataminr raises $475 million in a Series F funding round that values the New York-based company at $4.1 billion. The startup ingests information from 100,000 public data sources to provide real-time insights into global events for its customers. This massive influx of capital brings the company's total outside funding to over $1 billion.

The funding round includes prominent investors such as Eldridge, Valor Equity Partners, and MSD Capital, and comes at a time of significant growth for the organization. Dataminr currently serves half of the Fortune 50 alongside numerous large public sector organizations, with its enterprise customer segment doubling in revenue growth over the past year.

Founder and CEO Ted Bailey attributes this surging demand to a global sense of urgency around physical safety, crisis management, and cybersecurity. The company uses the new capital to add more corporate customers, expand its international sales efforts, and enhance its AI platform as it actively gears up for an expected IPO in 2023.
