The company chooses to support these specific database engines based on direct feedback from its developer community. By taking over the complex management tasks, DigitalOcean allows developers to focus entirely on building and running their applications without worrying about database administration.

Pricing for the managed databases remains consistent across all three available engines. The new MySQL and Redis services launch in New York, Frankfurt, and San Francisco data centers, and while additional database engines are planned for the future, no further releases are expected before the end of the year.
