Dublin-based startup Tines raises $4.1 million in Series A funding to help companies automate their cybersecurity operations. Blossom Capital leads the investment round, marking the first time the bootstrapped company accepts outside funding since its founding in 2018 by former eBay and DocuSign security engineer Eoin Hinchy.
The platform targets the repetitive manual tasks that consume the time of security analysts, allowing them to focus on higher-priority work. Tines achieves this automation through just six software "agents" that act as building blocks, which customers configure in various combinations to replicate almost any security workflow.
Once a trigger occurs, such as a suspected phishing email, these agents automatically execute the required response steps in what the company calls a "story." This approach functions as an exceptionally powerful, enterprise-grade version of IFTTT, enabling security teams to implement and see value from automated workflows on their very first day.
